Mission Planning and Rehearsal:
VROV is a scenario based system capable of simulating various types of equipment including:

• Wide range of ROV tooling including toque tools, skids, cutters, etc.
• Subsea oil field equipment: BOPs, trees, TFL, etc.
• Submarines and underwater mines

Being a scenario based software package, new objects, vehicles, terrain, tooling, etc. can be entered easily into the software to create new simulations. The scenario based software architecture of the VROV system allows GRI to quickly add new simulations in a short time frame. See the Scenarios page for examples of the default scenarios that are provided with each VROV system.



Visual Modeling and Conversion:
GRI can create custom 3D equipment models from CAD drawings, CAD models or even pictures. These optimized models are made with as few polygons as possible, while retaining the dimensions, functionality and look of the original source model or picture. This allows them to be rendered in real-time for use in simulation or visualization applications, specifically, the VROV Simulator system.

GRI also has the ability to translate almost any 3D file format to Microsoft DirectX which is the industry standard for real-time, 3D rendering of scenes for the gaming and simulation industries. Some of the supported file types include Inventor, Solidworks, Pro-E, Open Flight, STEP, CAD, etc.



Animation:
GRI can provide custom, high-resolution animations of procedures, equipment functionality, etc. The video(s) can be provided in a number of different sizes and formats, optimized for various distribution or viewing methods.





Field Mapping:
GRI can create layered images of your oil field, or other subsea project. These layered images are able to show/hide various elements or stages of development for visualization purposes. Each layer can be printed on transparency for utilization in a flip-chart style presentation.
